2026 Paladin Admissions Liaison Application

Serving as an PAL is a great way to demonstrate your love for Furman, develop your communication skills, and connect with prospective students from around the world! More information about how the Office of Admissions works with current students, specifically PALs, can be found below.

1. What are PALs? PALs stands for Paladin Admission Liaisons, which is the umbrella term to describe the various ways in which current students assist the Office of Admissions in connecting with prospective students. All PALs receive comprehensive training on storytelling and communications, attend monthly meetings hosted by the Office of Admissions, and are provided with opportunities for professional development facilitated through our office. The overarching expectation for all PALs is the assignment of connecting with a cohort of prospective and admitted students each year to share your authentic Furman experience and to provide advice and opportunities for connection across our campus.

2. Payment and Expectations? PALs is a paid student job that operates out of the Office of Admissions. Students chosen to serve in this capacity will be paid $15 per hour and receive payments bi-weekly. PALs are expected to complete the some following tasks:

Facilitate at least two (2) weekly in-person tours
Serve as a lunch host or daily visit panelist
Assist with Special Group or VIP Tours when needed
Participate in Furman Forward events (spring admitted student programming) and Fall for Furman events (fall recruitment programming)
Complete on-going correspondence with prospective students through various formats
Virtual & In-Person Panel Presentations as needed
Facilitate Showcase Saturday events
Social media needs (blog posts, reel participation, requested content, etc.)
Offer assistance with other virtual or in-person recruiting events that may pop-up throughout the year!

3. Who is Eligible to Apply for PALs? All sophomores, juniors, and seniors in good academic standing are eligible to work in our office.
*Note that onboarding training will occur in the spring of 2027 so if you plan to study away during that time you will be unable to apply in this application cycle.

Applications are due by 11:59pm EST on September 30th!

Selected applicants will be invited to interview with members of the Office of Admissions. Those who are offered an interview will be sent a follow-up email this fall to select a time for an in-person interview with the staff of the Office of Admissions. All students will be notified by October 5th.
